Peacock and Crane

      Princess Balal                                                               One day, Peacock  met  Crane  in  the forest."I feel  bad for  you" said  peacock. "You  are  so  dull  and  grey.

You,re not  beautiful  at all."  It  was  bad  thing  to  say.  Peacock  should  not  have  said  that .  But  Crane was  not  hurt  by  this  remark   of   Peacock."I like  being  this  way" Crane  said. "Is  that  so."  asked   Peacock. "Yes, it   is !"  said  Crane.  "See  this?   Cranes  can  fly  for   miles  and  miles." 

Crane  spread  his  long  wings. Then  he  flew  high  up  in the  sky.  He  flew  far, far  away.  Crane  was  having  so  much  fun!  Peacock  wished  he  could  fly  like   Crane.  He  beat  his  wings  trying   to   fly .

But  he  only  went up a little. He  just  couldn"t  fly  like  Crane. Crane  said, "I  love  flying. I  love   to  fly  high  and  far. I  learned  to  fly   when  I  was  a   baby. You  are   beautiful,  Peacock. But  you  will  not   fly   like  me."  Peacock  sat  thinking.

He  understood  one  thing  for  the  first   time  in  his  life. He  understood  that  birds  were  gifted.  He   was  not   only  one. Some  birds  could  fly.  Some  birds could  swim.  Some  birds  could  dance. Each bird   was  great  in  its   own   way
